Travelle Gaines (Elite NFL/NBA Speed & Strength Trainer)

Travelle Gaines serves as the Director of Pro-Athlete Development for Elite

Athletics, located in Westlake Village, CA just east of Malibu. 109 current

NFL players including 64 starters and 7 Pro Bowlers from 2008 have worked

with Gaines over the last two years.32 Athletes prepared with Travelle for

the 2009 NFL Draft including: LeSean McCoy, Jarron Gilbert, Ramses Barden

and Zack Follett. Travelle has worked with both NFL and NBA athletes

including: Marcus Trufant (Seahawks 2008 Pro Bowl CB), Brandon Roy

(2006-2007 NBA Rookie of the Year), Bob Sanders (2007 NFL Defensive Player

of the Year), Kevin Durant (2007-2008 NBA Rookie of the Year) and Willie

Parker (Steelers 2007 & 2008 Pro Bowl RB). As part of his duties at Elite,

Gaines oversees the NFL and NBA pre-draft training program as well as an

off-season NFL speed program. This year’s speed program was attended by more

than 30 NFL veterans including Reggie Bush, Marshawn Lynch, Steve Smith,

Justin Fargas, Owen Danials and Shaun Phillips. Travelle has a successful

history of preparing the nation’s top Athletes for the Combine and their Pro

Day’s and enabling them for success at the next level. At the 2009 Combine,

Gaines produced 53 top 10 results with at least one in every testing

category. Travelle also produced 7 of the top 20 pro day 40 yard dash times

in the country.

In addition to working with Athletes personally, Travelle has spent time

since 2007 working with the Jacksonville Jaguars Strength and Conditioning

staff during training camp, he also spent three years as Division I strength

and Conditioning Coach at the University of Louisiana-Monroe and at LSU.

While at LSU Gaines worked with future first round picks: Joe Addai,

Jamarcus Russell, Laron Landry, Dwayne Bowe, Craig “Buster” Davis and Glenn

Dorsey.
